Cursed SPAM.

Spam is a word which occupies the second or the third position after the word SCAM in investor’s lexicon. At any rate, we (investors) use it so often, and suffer from it, that it is impossible to imagine the spheres of our life without spam. Thus, we will speak about this cursed spam today.

Of course, you wait that we will say how you may get rid of it. And we will justify your hopes, partially. Actually, spam is the thing that cannot be removed easy, that’s why I want you to read this article attentively, because we think that spam will be senseless in case all investors will be directed by considerations that will be provided below. Well,

The first issue is technical means. Each investor has spam filters of installed programs, blacklists and filters on mail server, in his disposal. But all this has a relative use. You enter e-mail address (or IP) into the blocked list and get your undesired mails from another address (or IP). This is natural. There are many ways to resolve the problem “analytically”, and we will speak of them in future releases. But there are “ideological” forms of struggle, which cannot be ineffective. Let’s speak about them today.

Spam is sending undesired letters. In our case, spam is imposing the program with referral links, spreading some odd information. We and you, dear readers, make up an audience of people who make economic business in Internet. Be sure, we are few. And we are a tasty morsel for spammers. You may pay the money, or be interested in some financial offer etc. It is profitable to send you spam.

This spam is often the letters with advertising content (“the best program in the world”, “200% in 2 hours”, “invest or lose” etc). These letters may be spam or fake spam. Fake spam is the most unpleasant event. It has two edges, that is to say. On one side, it is harmful for the investor – littering his mailbox and head. On the other side, it damages the program which is advertised.

If not mention reputation, such actions may call punishment of hosters. But this happens only in case the fake is quality (thus, letters from admin@hyipnews.com may appear in your mailbox, although we NEVER did something like this). And this is clear with those resources that have various newsletters. They may be classified as spam, and the newsletter may be prohibited. This is unfortunate.

The second type of spam is phishing spam. This is the letter aimed at receiveing a password or other personal data from you (program access, for instance), we used to write about it. The third type of spam is viruses. Of course, we may list some more types, but all above-mentioned are most widespread. And if the second type may be ignored, the third may just be deleted, the first one is the most scaled and unpleasant.

In addition, such famous programs as PrivateOpps, for instance, also announced that spammers send undesired letters pretending that they were sent under their name, so hosters punished these programs. Here is one more side of spam, and it is unpleasant and inconvenient. It is hard to be resisted. It is hard to prove that “this is not me”.

And when hosters hold out hosting services because of complaints about spam sending (for instance, from PrivateOpps administration), this gives spammers a reason to be glad that their weapon is working. This is the same as DDOS, just sent by mail. And this is awful. But it is possible to resist it. As we have already decided, we will speak about technical means later. But there’s one more important issue that should be clear for each investor.

1. Spammer’s purpose is to get profit from your reaction (almost always).
2. Programs MAY resist scam by themselves.

These are two basic issue that are to be clear for professionals and amateurs. The first leads us to understanding of the fact that sending the letters is SENSELESS in case it is INEFFECTIVE. Spam will exist until it receives some profit… of course, if someone orders spam newsletter to revenge on some site, this is not business. But if they want to sell you something or make you use the link – they will stop sending as soon as they see that this is senseless!

And the programs may THEMSELVES fight spam. You used to see sending referral links by means of spam. Do you click them? But you understand that administration may easily zeroize spammer’s account, of someone complains… how do you think, have they ever done it?

Nope. We almost never see the administration feedback in case we complained for sending the letters supposedly “under our name”. What’s the conclusion? THIS IS PROFITABLE FOR THE PROGRAMS. They don’t want to stop spam (or encourage it).

WHAT DO WE DO WITH SPAMMERS THEN? I think that the single way out will be making a strict decision: WE IGNORE SPAMMERS. The programs that advertise by means of spam are NOT VICTIMS. They could easily stop this if they want. But they are interested in it. Investors are the victims here, as they receive heaps of something that don’t want to have, and the resources, that are exposed so.

So fight with spam is to be started from ignoring spam newsletters, from complaining for the programs and preventing they get what they want – new investors. It is surely not worthy to invest with this referral link. It is possible for you to make spam ineffective, and thus you may prevent these boring newsletters. Even in case you find an interesting program, don’t let spammer get what he wants. Fight with it and you will succeed!
